Just like everybody else in 2020, my life was changed by the pandemic dramatically. While I was able to move some of my lessons online, most of my students had to stop taking lessons altogether. I lost my group lessons, the cover band I was in folded, and I suddenly found myself staring at a computer screen looking for answers. Not long after joining many online drum communities, I found something wonderful. Drummers everywhere! Drummers as far as the eye could see, more drummers than any one teacher could hope to teach alone and many of these people were excited to take lessons online during the pandemic. But many young people I met, especially in parts of the world where teachers or even drums themselves were scarce, did not have the ability to pay for lessons. I couldn't leave them behind. I can't imagine what my life would be without this instrument and though my relationship with my teachers was less than ideal, I knew I could make a difference in the lives of people all around the world by giving them the lessons they desperately wanted. Thus, Drumming For All was born.
